Pressed-to-Size Inserts perform aggressive metal cutting.

August 25, 2008 - Available in T or D variations, CNC-pressed Toroid inserts have shock-absorbing cutting edge designed to handle heavy chip loads. Products offer heat absorption capabilities and are designed to promote extended tool life. Positive top rake reduces cutting forces and torque. T-land offers reinforced cutting edge for steels, irons, and hard milling, while dished face provides high-positive cutting edge for stainless steels, high-temperature alloys, and gummy materials.

Dapra Introduces Pressed-to-Size Toroid Inserts for Ultra-Aggressive Metal Cutting and Enhanced Tool Life

New high-performance CNC-pressed Toroid inserts from DAPRA are designed for very aggressive metal cutting and long tool life. These thicker inserts offer enhanced heat absorption capabilities and feature a stronger cutting edge for heavier chip loads and greater shock absorption. Positive top rake additionally results in reduced cutting forces and lower torque.

These pressed-to-size inserts are available in either "T" or "D" variations. The T-land offers a reinforced cutting edge for steels, irons and hard milling, while the dished face provides a high-positive cutting edge for stainless steels, high-temperature alloys and gummy materials.

This new insert line will fit current DAPRA Toroid end mills and shell mills with the aid of a thicker top clamp. Pressed round ("button") inserts, octagonal inserts and high-feed inserts will become available in sizes from 1/2" to 3/4" in the coming months.

For more information on these new Toroid Cutter Inserts, please contact Dapra Corporation, by phone at (800) 243-3344, by fax at (860) 242-3017 or by email at info@dapra.com. To view Dapra's complete Toroid line, visit the company's Web site at www.dapra.com.
