Pottstown, PA, Aug 5, 2008 - Microteknix announces the EPC-2374 environmental protection and control unit, a digital monitoring system designed to monitor and protect from environmental events. In addition to its protection, control and metering functions, the unit records sequentially formatted history and event logs by time and date. Designed for many industrial applications, the flexible design allows for three independent and configurable contact outputs. Each output is configurable for a single event, or multiple logically configured events. The built in logic engine allows the user to configure an output based on a logical combination of events. In addition, the
logic engine supports up to four nested levels of user created logic, allowing for a vast and flexible number of applications.
The EPC-2374 is configured via a PC using any terminal program. A graphical set-point manager allows for easy setup and configuration. The terminal interface also allows for testing contacts, viewing history and status reports, metering, data logging and help displays. The configurable audible alarm, along with the ability to connect an external phone dialer, logic configurable outputs and clear front panel metering display makes the EPC-2374 a powerful addition to the protection marketplace.
Coupled with its small size, rugged industrial design and flexible configuration, the EPC-2374 proves to be an extremely powerful solution for many industries.
To ensure the EPC-2374 is able to meet a customer's requirements, the system is configurable with the following features:
o Ambient Temperature, Humidity and Dewpoint (no sensor required)
o External inputs - up to 8 PT-100 RTD inputs (2 or 3 wire)
o 3 user configurable contact outputs
o Output logic engine (sets outputs through logic combinations )
o Programmable output pick-up and drop-out timers
o Event Logging. Time/Date stamped event reports
o History Reports - Archived 24 hour reports of all internal/external readings
o Data Logging Mode with Min/Max Reports

o Configurable audible alarm
o Power-Fail output contact
Control of the system is by a microprocessor based hardware platform allowing for extreme accuracy. In addition, the unit retains its memory, settings and event reports in non-volatile memory. The EPC-2374 was engineered for industrial applications requiring reliability.
