LEDs provide intense light with low power consumption.

July 25, 2008 - Delivering up to 250 lumens of white light at 700 mA, 5 W TitanBrite(TM) LEDs are compatible with surface mount processes and are suited for spot lighting applications. RoHS-compliant units measure 10 x 10 mm with domed lenses. Available in through-hole design, 1 W SuperBeam(TM) LEDs focus intense light into narrow beam, providing optical efficiency of 35 lumens/W with 25° beam angle. Through-hole design is suited for applications like flashlights that do not adopt surface mount configurations.

Lumex Launches New High-Power LED Technologies

New products easily integrated for use in wide variety of application-specific products

PALATINE, IL (July 14, 2008) - Lumex announces the launch of two new high-power LED technologies, TitanBrite(TM) and SuperBeam(TM) that provide bright, intense light with low power consumption.

TitanBrite is a 5-watt LED that delivers light intensity of up to 250 lumens of brilliant white light at 700mA of current. Compatible with most surface mount processes, TitanBrite LEDs are ideal for use in spot lighting applications including display lighting, sign/graphic backlighting, medical device usage, emergency indication, architectural and decorative lighting, high-end appliances, or for any application that calls for high intensity point source lighting.

SuperBeam, the first high-power 1-watt LED technology to be offered in through-hole design in the North American market, is designed to focus intense light into a narrow beam. The through-hole design is well-suited for applications like flashlights that do not adopt surface mount configurations. SuperBeam is ideal for applications requiring small spotlighting such as a flashlight beam in a retail showcase, smaller medical device applications, or any application that calls for bright illumination with a narrow focused beam.

"The TitanBrite and SuperBeam LED technologies further expand Lumex's comprehensive family of high-powered LED products," explained Richard Halliday, Director of Sales and Marketing at Lumex. "Lumex's ability to deliver industry-leading technical support to help companies integrate these technologies in a way that closely matches their human interface goals further sets these products apart."

TitanBrite LEDs are available in cold, warm and neutral white for enhanced product differentiation. Cold white colors project brightness and cleanliness while warm white shades project a more natural and 'soft' looking light.

TitanBrite LEDs are 10mm x 10mm in size with domed lenses and are RoHS compliant. Production quantities are available in 8 - 10 weeks. Pricing is dependent on color specified and quantity ordered, and is approximately $10 per unit in 10K quantities.

SuperBeam LEDs provide an optical efficiency of 35 lumens per watt with a tight beam angle of 25 degrees. This 10mm package is available in cold, warm and neutral white as well as in red, yellow, blue and green for product differentiation opportunities. Production quantities are available in 8-10 weeks. Pricing is dependent on color and quantity ordered and is approximately $2 per unit for 10K quantities.
