Compressed Air Filter has a flow-optimized design.

December 5, 2007 - Along with microprocessor that continually measures differential pressure, Ultra-Filter(TM) includes filter changeout indicator, coalescing drainage layer fixed in place by outer support sleeve, and pressure display integrated in filter head. Changing positioning clip inside filter bowl allows filter element to be rotated to reverse flow direction. Used as coalescing or particulate filter, it offers flow rates from 20-647 scfm and compressor capacities between 2-120 kW.

Donaldson Introduces a Line of New Energy Efficient Compressed Air Filters

Ultra-Filter(TM) excels in all areas of performance

Minneapolis, Minnesota - November 29, 2007 - Industrial manufacturers require filtration solutions that are economical and high performing. Donaldson Company, Inc. (NYSE:DCI), a leading, worldwide provider of filtration solutions, is pleased to introduce Ultra-Filter(TM), the newest innovative compressed air filter utilizing a flow-optimized filter design that ensures minimum pressure loss and high separation efficiency.

The patent pending Donaldson Ultra-Filter is manufactured using a new filter medium and an advanced production technology that optimizes pleating to create a reduction in pressure drop by as much as 50 percent while increasing separation efficiency at the same time. Its increased surface area ensures very high dirt retention capacity.

An energy efficient solution. The Ultra-Filter includes the Economizer integrated microprocessor to continually measure differential pressure. The Economizer compares the higher energy costs caused by pressure loss with the cost of a new filter element. A filter changeout indicator alerts when a new filter is required. Additionally, the filter is designed with a coalescing drainage layer which is completely fixed in place by the outer support sleeve. This design ensures a constant flow cross-section between the element and the housing at all times reducing the differential pressure through the filter.

A space saving solution. The new Ultra-Filter intelligent adapter solution requires 30 percent less space than conventional filters. Its compact design integrates the differential pressure display in the filter head. Filter changeout only requires about an inch of ground clearance. All filter housings are manufactured with an immersion-lacquered interior and exterior that ensures long-term protection against corrosive condensates.

A flexible solution. The Ultra-Filter can be used as either a coalescing filter (flow through element from the inside to outside) or as a particulate filter (outside to inside flow) without rotation of the filter head. Changing the positioning clip inside the filter bowl allows the filter element to be rotated thereby reversing the flow direction in seconds. Six element types are available with different levels of oil, particulate, and vapor removal efficiency.

Available in nine sizes, this Donaldson compressed air filtration solution covers the performance range from 20 to 647 scfm flow rate and conventional compressor capacities between 2 and 120 kW. Size ranges include:

o Standard - Econometer differential pressure gauge with float drain
o SuperPlus - Economizer differential pressure gauge with zero air-loss Ultramat (UFM-T) condensate drain valve.

A safe solution. The Ultra-Filter is designed with a bayonet lock which prohibits opening the filter while it is under pressure.

With over 30 years of expertise in compressed air filtration and separation, Donaldson manufactures a complete line of drying and filtering equipment in an innovative, cutting-edge design with energy efficient operation and reliable performance to increase productivity and lower operating costs for the air volume that fits their customer's needs. Donaldson Compressed Air and Gas offers a wide variety of solutions to reduce energy costs, improve productivity, guarantee production quality and help preserve the environment.
