Nanofiltration System forms nanoscopic mesh on filters.

August 20, 2007 - Advanced Nanofiber Filtration Technology for dust collection cartridge filters enables cartridge filters to last longer than cellulose and commodity filters. Synthetic nanofiber treatment traps dust particles on filter surfaces for removal during cleaning and serves to lower pressure drop over filter's life. Nanofibers measure 70-150 nm and are certified to collect submicronic dust particles at MERV 15 efficiency levels.

New Breakthrough Advanced Nanofiber Filtration Technology from UAS Delivers Twice The Filter Life, Less Energy Cost

CINCINNATI, OH - August 2, 2007 - United Air Specialists (UAS) introduces Advanced Nanofiber Filtration Technology for dust collection cartridge filters. This breakthrough technology allows UAS cartridge filters to last twice as long as cellulose and 80/20 commodity filters, cutting total dust collection costs by reducing the number of replacement filters needed, lowering maintenance cost and decreasing total energy use.

Longer filter life is a result of nanofiber's advanced surface loading capabilities. UAS filters with nanofiber technology include a surface treatment of the finest synthetic nanofibers used in any current filtration product. These fibers form a nanoscopic mesh that traps dust particles on the filter's surface, where they easily release during the cleaning cycle and lower the pressure drop over the life of the filter.

This enhanced cleanability and lower pressure drop allow UAS nanofiber filters to outlast cellulose and 80/20 commodity filters 2:1. Dust collection systems equipped with these filters may also use up to 60% less compressed air and require less energy to operate.

Compared to the other dust collection nanofiber technology, UAS nanofibers are about 50% finer. They measure only 70-150 nm (.07-.15 µ), or about 1,000 times smaller than a human hair. UAS' nanofiber filtration technology is also more durable, with better moisture and temperature resistance and stronger adhesion to the media substrate.

UAS cartridge filters with nanofiber technology are certified to collect submicronic dust particles at MERV 15 efficiency levels. UAS is the only dust collection equipment manufacturer to offer a MERV 15 filter as standard in their cartridge collectors. This rating is certified by independent lab tests per the ASHRAE standard 52.2-1,999, the most current industry-accepted measurement of filter efficiency and ability to capture submicron particles. By reducing emissions 50% or more over standard cellulose filters, UAS nanofiber technology provides a cleaner breathing zone for workers and reduced facility maintenance.

This advanced nanofiber filtration technology is available for UAS and other brand collectors. For more information, call 1-800-252-4647, or visit www.uasinc.com.
