Electrostatic Separators reclaim metal/plastic material.

July 10, 2006 - Using entirely dry process, electrostatic separation equipment can remove, clean, separate, or recover plastics or metal from nonmetal mixture. EKS Series is capable of segregating 2 recyclable plastics simultaneously and is suited for sorting plastic production waste, separating unwanted contaminants in plastics, or producing new product from raw material. Fully automatic KWS Series can separate very fine metal particles from recycling materials.

Reclaim Valuable Material with Electrostatic Separators from Bunting Magnetics Co.

NEWTON, KS - New Plastics Series and Metal Series Electrostatic Separators from Bunting Magnetics let users extract difficult-to-reclaim, small particles from recycled material. Whether separating two types of plastics or metal from a nonmetal mixture, electrostatic separation equipment will effectively remove, clean, separate, or recover material - depending on the users' needs. Using differences in static electricity, or electricity at rest, to separate materials, the dry process EKS and KWS Series Separators from Bunting can be integrated into an existing recycling operation, or built entirely new.

Sorting plastic production waste, separating unwanted contaminants in plastics, or producing new product from valuable raw material is easy with user-friendly, low-energy consumption Plastic EKS Series Electrostatic Separators from Bunting Magnetics Co. The separators - which rely on the differences in the static charging behavior of various plastics - can take a mixture of two plastic types and produce a clean plastic separation for each. For those users who regularly work with plastic-plastic mixtures, cable scrap, plastic production waste, bottle caps, PET beverage bottles, and other plastic mixtures, the EKS Series equipment provides the effective separation they need for recycling and other applications. Because material separation takes place absolutely dry, auxiliary separation liquids and conditioners are not necessary and drying time is eliminated. The reliable unit is capable of segregating two recyclable plastics simultaneously.

Bunting will tailor units to different throughputs and separation tasks; and it can provide integrated material handling equipment and automatic controls for a complete turnkey installation. All Plastic EKS Series Electrostatic Separators from Bunting are equipped with a robust framework and maintenance platform, easy service access, electronics cabinet with programmable controls, security of high-voltage areas, automatic electrode cleaning, and more.

Recover fine copper threads from cable wastes, extract aluminum flakes from ground PET bottles, or separate precious metal from pulverized electronic scrap with Metal KWS Series Electrostatic Separators from Bunting Magnetics Co. KWS Series electrostatic separators can separate very fine metal particles from recycling materials, such as cable scrap, electronic scrap, or bonding materials. KWS Series Separators feed raw material into a rotating metal drum that is located inside the separator housing. There the material is exposed to the electromagnetic field created by a high-voltage electrode and becomes electrostatically charged. The conductive metal particles in the mix quickly lose their charge and fall from the rotating drum into metal collection receptacles. The nonconductive material loses its charge more slowly and temporarily sticks to the drum - achieving the desired separation as it falls into a different bin.

The dry separation process again eliminates chemicals, water, emissions, and drying time. High separating efficiency - particularly against the smallest metal particles - ensures product purity. KWS Series Electrostatic Separators from Bunting are fully automatic, easy to operate, and result in a problem-free transition when changing materials. Each unit comes equipped with a basic frame and maintenance platform, electronics cabinet with programmable controls, an integrated de-dusting system, automatic electrode cleaning, security of high-voltage areas, and more.

Bunting has the engineering capabilities and expertise to guide users through the selection and installation of these highly productive systems. Separators are outfitted to meet most requirements and can be custom built if necessary. With KWS and EKS Electrostatic Separators from Bunting, customers can reclaim a wide range of valuable materials.
