Press-Fit Contacts simplify solder-free connection to pcb.

July 2, 2004 - Press-Fit contacts, for PowerMod products, incorporate Flat Rock feature that eliminates need for special tooling to press connectors into board. Contacts are available for straight-through male and female connectors. Based on compliant termination, they are designed for 2 ranges of pcb thickness of .092–.177 in. and .177–.255 in. Nonstandard sizes are also offered. Connectors are UL listed to 23 A per circuit for board-to-board applications.

Anderson Power Products Introduces New Press-Fit Contacts For Powermod Products

Anderson Power Products (APP), a leader in high power interconnect solutions introduces its new press-fit, solder-less contacts for the popular PowerMod family of products. The press-fit concept enables a solder-free connection to the PCB, and the unique “Flat Rock” design means no special tooling is required for pressing the connectors into the PCB.

APP’s press-fit contacts are available for both straight-through male and female connectors. Based on compliant termination, these contacts are designed for two ranges of PCB thickness of .092” to .177” (2.4 to 4.5 mm) and .177” to .255”
(4.5 to 6.5 mm). Non-standard sizes are also available.

PowerMod press-fit connectors from APP provide very low-contact resistance and are UL listed to 23 amps per circuit for board-to-board applications and 25 amps per circuit in board-to-cable applications. PowerMod solder and crimp connectors are fully compatible and intermateable with APP’s new press-fit contacts.

Anderson Power Products is a leader in developing high quality, low cost, power interconnect solutions for several industries, including: Back Up Power Systems, Electrical Recreational Vehicles, UPS Systems, Telecommunications and High-Technology Devices. Headquartered in Sterling, MA, Anderson Power Product’s facility is ISO 9001:2000 certified and uses automated manufacturing to offer uncompromising quality. In addition, APP operates a manufacturing and assembly facility in Fermoy, Ireland to provide support for their European customers, as well as two Asia Pacific facilities: one in Shenzhen, China, and the second in Shatin Hong Kong.

APP connectors are available through their authorized distributor network or direct from the factory. For further information about the company and its products, call 978-422 3600 or visit their web site at www.andersonpower.com.
