Seamless Polyurea Lining Prevents Chemical Spills from Spreading

Milwaukee, WI - Volatile Free Inc. announces the availability of its VFI 210®, a spray-applied, seamless, elastomeric containment lining that bridges hairline cracks in the concrete containment areas common in industrial plants. This lining system is an innovative new hybrid polyurethane/polyurea that cures instantly to resist moisture in the substrate or high humidity from slowing application time. This information is according to John Henningsen, spokesperson for the manufacturer.

"Traces of moisture hidden in concrete will have minimal or no effect on VFI 210," said Mr. John Henningsen. "That's due to the unique hybrid polyurea engineering of the product which allows the elastomers to be tolerant to moisture during application. This built-in ability to resist the intrusion of moisture into the coating and its extremely rapid cure time eliminates downtime in most applications."

In climates with higher humidity, VFI offers an "HH" designated polyurea coating.

VFI 210 is a 100% solids, Zero VOC polyurea/polyurethane elastomeric membranes which can be used for primary and secondary containment applications. According to the manufacturer, the coating is applied with high film builds. Plus, the rapid cure (less than one minute @ 70°F/21°C) eliminates down time of existing installations and shortens the start up time of new installations.

The company records continue to document that VFI 210 has tensile strength ranging from 3600 psi (25 Mpa) and a hardness ranging from 95A/57D (ASTM D 2240). Lastly, the company pointed out the 340% elongation (ASTM D 412, Die C @ 75°F/24°C) of the product being ideal for bridging hairline cracks in concrete substrates.

VFI 210's standard color is black, however custom colors can be created.
