Production Solutions Introduces Patented Universal Tooling Pin

Tooling pin adjusts to board hole sizes .095" to .195" for single tool solution...

POWAY, CA (June 11, 2002) — Production Solutions Inc, introduced a patented tooling pin option for semi-automatic screen printing applications. The Universal Tooling Pin is a uniquely designed adjustable pin, which registers printed circuit boards (PCB), regardless of tooling hole size. The Universal Tooling Pin is ideal for both OEM manufacturers and contract manufacturers where job runs with different board specifications occur frequently.

“Before the introduction of the Universal Tooling Pin, the only option was to inventory a wide range of varying diameter tooling pins in hopes that one would fit,” said Production Solutions, CEO, Doug Farlow. “Investing in and searching for the correct pin was costly and inconvenient. We developed the Universal Tooling Pin as a one-time, cost-effective investment that may be utilized over and over again, regardless of tooling hole size.”

The Universal Tooling Pin is manufactured of heavy-duty stainless steel and incorporates built-in set screws to eliminate the possibility of board movement. The pins work exclusively with Production Solutions’ patented Red-E-Set substrate support system. Universal Tooling Pins are available from stock at $349 per set of two and represents a 50 percent reduction in tooling pin cost to the average manufacturer.

Production Solutions Inc. is a manufacturer of semi-automatic and inline substrate support tooling systems for the electronics industry. Headquartered in Poway, California, Production Solutions Inc. manufactures and distributes a patented substrate support system for printed circuit board screen printers, dispensing systems and automated assembly equipment.
